CIP has recently been closely involved with Bridgestone in the Middle East. As a result Bridgestone felt it would be beneficial for their Distributors and Customers to learn more about the Continuous Improvement Process and benefit from its advantages. This led to an article about our Programme being included in the latest “Real Answers” magazine. The article can be viewed on our website ~ ~ which also has a link to the Bridgestone site where the entire magazine can be viewed alongside much other useful information

During the year we have been working closely with a manufacturer and converter of industrial tapes specialising in tailor-making adhesive & non-adhesive tapes to your specific requirements.

Full details and some pictures and examples can be found on ~ ~ where you will also see that we are responsible for marketing their products in several regions. However, even if your company is outside those regions, please feel free to contact us ~ ~ and we will be happy to pass on your enquiry to the relevant department.

New CKD assembly plant

CIP has been actively involved in the initial stages of a study for a new CKD assembly plant in South America. The purpose of this project is to provide automotive expertise and technical support for the establishment of an Automotive Assembly Plant and a “state of the art” vehicle distribution operation, in a developing market. This support is planned in three phases:

Phase 1 – Market Study

This phase of the Project involves gathering data from available sources including:

·                  Market Vehicle Statistics

·                  Government support for inward investment

·                  Local component requirements

·                  Competitive Pricing

·                  Homologation Requirements

·                  Import Taxes, Freight, etc

·                  Establishment of a Pricing Strategy

·                  Re-export opportunities to nearby countries

·                  Other relevant local policies affecting the auto industry

This will involve verifying and matching information and producing a market study to support the establishment of a vehicle assembly operation, determining a viable model line-up and a strategy for the development of a sustainable distribution and after sales network.

 Phase 2 – Business plan

This Phase of the Project involves developing a comprehensive business plan based on the results of Phase 1.

Phase 3 – Operations Manual

This Phase involves development of a comprehensive Operations / Polices and Procedures Manual, based on CIP's experience and international best practice.

The plan is for CIP to not only carry out the research above but to also become closely involved with the implementation of all Phases in view of CIP’s wide knowledge and experience of such enterprises.

It is encouraging that the client was referred to ourselves by two other consultancy companies in view of CIP’s experience and reputation in the industry.

We have been working closely with an international component manufacturer who is planning to establish a regional office in the Middle East.

To assist the operation to become most efficient and focussed, CIP is preparing to compile statistical data to their requirements so they can ensure they support their products in the most cost-effective manner according to the size of each section of the established vehicle parc. The data will cover cars, vans, trucks and buses and will show quite detailed specifications of each model by vehicle class for the existing vehicle population up to 12 years old which is still operating in each country.

Dubai CV Show 2011

Following the success of our presence at the CV show in Dubai in 2010, we plan to be there again in 2011 ~ 14-16 March ~ we hope to see you there so please let us know if you will be visiting the show or if you would like to meet us whilst we are in Dubai.

cpd1  Continuous Professional Development

In our constant quest to keep ourselves up to date, during 2010 both Terry and Ian qualified for the Certificate of CPD Achievement issued by the Institute of the Motor Industry.

We have been approached by a Distributor with several outlets in Moscow to assist them in upgrading their operations, improving efficiencies and consequently improving profitability ~ an exercise for which we have become well known. Although dates have not yet been confirmed, it seems likely this exercise will take place during the first half of 2011 ~ watch this space!!!

CIP has been short-listed to assist a major manufacturer with the after-sales training of the middle management of their Distributors in the Middle East Region. The development of the training programme and the training needs assessment of the Distributors has been under discussion for several months and it now seems likely that training will commence in the first quarter of 2011.

We are continuing our special GUARANTEE OFFER pertaining to the CIP Process which ensures clients will not pay us any fee if we cannot prove that we can save them considerably more money in their business than the cost of undertaking the exercise. See full details here.

The recession has hit us all over the past two years but CIP is just beginning to see a few optimistic signs that things are slowly starting to return to normal. Let us all hope that we are finally past the worst.

new year

Seasons greetings

Terry & Ian would like to wish all our clients, associates and other friends

a happy, safe and prosperous 2011 as we all hopefully

climb out of the recession

HAPPY 2011

PS ~ Beware of global warming!!!!!

Terry was en route to Heathrow to pick up daughter Tracy, flying in from Dallas, and was caught up in Blizzard conditions which left Britain gridlocked as major airports closed and roads became impassable on what should have been the busiest weekend before Christmas. Tracy was diverted to Paris and eventually managed to join Terry 3 days after leaving Dallas.
